Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving is a holiday that is usually celebrated in the United States or Canada. It is celebrated as a day to give thanks for the blessing of harvest. It is celebrated on the fourth Monday of October in Canada and Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November for the United States . Historically in the United States, it has been a celebration of the blessing of the year and good harvest. The first Thanksgiving was celebrated by the Pilgrims after their first harvest in the New World in 1621. It has been celebrated as a federal holiday ever since 1863. President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national holiday of Thanksgiving and Praise to ur Father in Heaven.
