I think what the quote is trying to say is that it does not matter if your'e a good basketball player or not , as long as your a good person that's the good thing. You can be really bad at something but a really good person. You don't have to be bad at something and not be a good person. Sometimes , people are good at something and are actually not good people. You can have the best job in the world and be a happy person if you choose to. Celebrities are rich and some of them are actually very nice. Some of them can actually be very rude and disrespectful people. Its better to be a good person than to be good at something. John Wooden was a great basketball coach and a CTR person. He teached his players that sportsmanship matters the most.
