A Choice: Poverty or Prosperity
“ I hated poverty. Poverty is more of a choice than anything else, and I can change that (poverty). It depends upon how hard I want to work and I decided that I would change it.” Dr. Ben Carson
- I think what this quote means is we need to start getting up and working or else we are going to live our lives as sloths. Everyone needs to work hard for the things they want. People work really hard to not live under poverty. For example, my mom is working hard to have the best for me and my sister. Poverty is anyone’s choice. You can decide if you want to live in a life of poverty or not. I don’t want to live in a life of poverty because I want the best for me and my family. I wouldn’t want my family to see me as a person who doesn’t even try or that doesn’t even care about my education. I want to have a really great job that I like and where I would earn a good amount of money. I believe no one would even want to live in a life of poverty. Everyone wants to be happy and free.
